I’m interested in the relationship between the visible and the hidden or unknown. Using simple forms to create complexity, my aim is for the viewer not just to engage but be intrigued.
I’ve always been drawn to ancient sites. Stone remnants and plants remain visible but its purpose or meaning can be elusive or mysterious. Much of my personal history was unknown to me for many years, so I find resonance in places where our collective past has been erased or obscured by forces beyond our control.
Using shapes inspired by ancient stone monuments and the plant forms that surround them, I explore the connection between the evident and the unseen.
I graduated in art and design and theatre design at Central St Martins and Wimbledon art schools in London.Later I studied a post graduate in Social work and have worked in various settings supporting young peoples mental health with creative art projects.I have exhibited and sold work in various galleries and solo exhibitions around Scotland and have managed a gallery collective of 30 artists.I now create prints and paintings from my studio in Balfron.
