abstract paintings
Using forms inspired by ancient stone monuments these paintings explore the relationship between the visible and hidden or unknown.
Monoliths and ruins guard secrets: the stone remains visible but its purpose or meaning can be elusive or mysterious. Our collective past erased or obscured by forces beyond control.
Created by a combination of brush painting and hand printing techniques to convey texture and depth, my intention is to let the viewer find both order and mystery, and contemplate the spaces and places between things we know.
